NO LIST called "The Greatest" featuring "My Favorite People, Places & Things" would be truly complete without one of the greatest performers of ALL TIME (and one of my favorite music artists), the Queen Bee herself, Beyonce Knowles, Female Pop Vocalist, making an appearance.
For members of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Beyhive like myself, we loved knowing that she and her husband Jay-Z were renting a palatial Malibu estate known as La Villa Contenta perched on the Pacific Coast Highway a quick ride away from Nobu - at a reported $400,000 per month. This 14-bedroom, 16,000+ square-foot mansion that sits on "6.3 acres of exquisitely landscaped gardens overlooking unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean" according to the listing details, has been featured in several Hollywood movies and served as the refuge where Bey and Jay brought home their new twins, Sir and Rumi, last spring.
The Wall Street Journal and The Real Deal reported today that the estate, which was listed by Malibu real estate king Chris Cortazzo for $68 million, recently sold for $50 million:
Over in Malibu, a mansion once rented by power couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z, sold for $50 million to Behdad Eghbali, a founding partner at Santa Monica-based investment firm Clearlake Capital. The seller was Richard Weintraub, president and CEO of Weintraub Real Estate Group. Dubbed La Villa Contenta, the home includes 14 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a wine cellar, screening room, ballroom and guesthouse. Outside, an infinity swimming pool and rose garden complete the home.
Meanwhile, the Carters, who are currently traveling the world on their On The Run II tour, can look forward to coming home to their new Bel Air mansion, a modern Dean McKillen showplace designed by architect Paul McLean that the couple reportedly paid $88 million for after being outbid by Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson for a different $70 million, 23,000-square-foot uber luxe modern mansion in Trousdale, the most desired and exclusive area in Beverly Hills.
